Christopher Hollands
Chris (UK) joined MSIAC on 3 August 2020 as the Energetic Materials TSO, he has a Masters Degree in Chemistry from the University of Birmingham in the UK, obtained in 2007.
From 2009 until 2020 Chris worked for the UK Ministry of Defence, initially joining as part of the Defence Engineering and Science Groups graduate development scheme. Following completion of the scheme Chris joined the Defence Ordnance Safety Group (DOSG) as an Energetic Material Scientist. Chris working as part of the Energetic Materials team undertook a range of tasks including providing specialist scientific advice on munition and weapon safety to UK MOD, Industry and International Partners. Additionally, Chris actively supported the UK’s research activities into new less sensitive energetic materials and novel processing technologies. In 2018 Chris assumed the role of UK National Authority for Qualification, ensuring that new energetic materials introduced into UK service met the required standards for safety while maintain their performance requirements.
Prior to joining the UK Minsitry of Defence (DE&S) from 2007 until 2009 Chris worked as a researcher in the field of polymer science in the paint industry in the UK.
